1816 Creation of Caisse des Dépots et Consignations (CDC), the French National Savings Fund.
1947 CDC engages in funding the rebuilding of the social infrastructure of France following the Second World War.
1956 France's first interurban motorway is created as a PPP which results in the formation of the first concession company, six other SEMCAs are created through to 1969 and begin to develop their networks (7500km).
1970's The engineering bureaux of the SEMCAs, are amalgamated to form Scetauroute. Transroute is created jointly by CDC, the SEMCAs, and Scetauroute to export the BOT “know-how” outside of France. The Group diversifies outside of France.
1985 Egis Projects’ subsidiary, Transroute, begins a 10 year activities in Malaysia assisting Renong Group to develop the North-South Motorway (PLUS). Transroute also is active on the Guangzhou to Shenzhen "Superhighway" providing the fixed operating equipment.
1995 Egis begins its Australian business, Egis Projects Asia Pacific, through participation in the development of the Melbourne CityLink and the Hills Motorway projects.
1999 Shareholding of all the Group companies is reassembled under a single holding vehicle called Groupe Egis. Egis Projects becomes the subsidiary of Groupe Egis responsible for development, funding and operations with Transroute as its specialised road operations subsidiary.
2002 Financial closure is reached on North Luzon Expressway in the Philippines and Daejeon Riverside Expressway, thus expanding Egis’ concessions in the Asian Region.
